Kiana, or what Dedee calls her KIKI, is the main reason Dedee “Not only got me through my last year in graduate school at UCLA, but kept me from throwing myself out the window…! We’ve gone through a lot together and I owe her a lot! She’s truly one of the best therapists I know and an amazing friend!” She also kept up my a** to ensure my cold feet didn’t take over and not follow through with this podcast. So, you can thank Kiki for my sanity and for this podcast : )) I love and appreciate you!”
Kiana Naimi is a Persian-American, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #114736) that’s based in Los Angeles, California, (speaks Farsi), and specializes in grief and loss. Phew! That is a mouthful! Upon graduating from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs with her Master of Social Welfare (MSW), Kiana has served individuals across the lifespan and has supported both the whole health of teenagers within school and hospital settings, and Veterans [and their families] in the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center (GLAVAMC). Although Kiana’s clinical experience are quite expansive, personal and professional life experiences have led her down the path of grief work because she recognizes that grief is a common linkage in our everyday lives, and one of three reasons why folks seek therapeutic support. She’s since sought to learn everything she could about how to help grievers manage grief storms and has made it her mission to help others learn, and find solace as well. Currently, Kiana is completing her Ph.D. in Social Work at USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, and enjoys spending time with loved ones when possible.
